Professional Pathway is a coherent, progressive learning and development programme leading to professional qualifications for novices and anyone with intermediate and senior levels of experience in project management.

Pathway qualifications are provided in the UK by the Association for Project Management and are aligned to an established international certification framework governed by the International Project Management Association (IPMA).  Gaining these qualifications provides international recognition across a wide body of industries and countries.

There are four international qualifications (levels D to A), each corresponding to an individual's level of knowledge and experience (see diagram).  In the UK an Introductory Certificate in Project Management is also available for newcomers that provides prior learning for Level D.

Pathway is progressive: each qualification course provides a foundation for the next, and is supported by experiential workshops to enable anyone with significant experience to gain entry directly to higher level qualifications.
