Who is APM?
The Association for Project Management is an independent professional body which promotes development and application of project management across all sectors of industry and beyond. It is based in the UK and is the largest body of its kind in Europe. Currently, it has over 15,500 individual and 450 corporate members throughout the UK and abroad.
Its headquarters are in Princes Riseborough, Buckinghamshire, with twelve regional branches throughout the UK and one in Hong Kong.
What is the APM BOK?
The APM Body of Knowledge contains fifty-two knowledge areas required to manage successful projects. It is supported by special interest groups that continually research and develop specific aspects of the BOK. The BOK forms the basis of the APM range of qualifications and is further promoted through publications and events.
APM Members are skilled and experienced professionals recognised in the UK and throughout the world via International Project Management Association (IPMA); APM is the UK member of the IPMA.
How can I become a member of the APM?

If you take the ICPM or APMP courses you will able to register for membership free for up to six weeks after the exam.
What qualifications are available through the APM?
Four levels of qualification are provided:
Introductory ICPM: anyone beginning a career in project management or requiring an understanding of the principles of project management
APMP (IPMA Level D): for individuals with up to two years experience in project management
Practitioner Qualification (IPMA Level C): for individuals with more than three years experience
Certificated Project Manager (IPMA Level B): for project managers with extensive experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
Is there a chartered status for project managers?
The APM is currently going through a process to become a chartered institute. This includes the establishment of Chartered Project Professional (CPP) status.
