What is the APMP Qualification?
The APMP qualification is awarded by the UK’s Association for Project Management to candidates who demonstrate a professional level of understanding in project management methods through rigorous examination. It is a well established baseline qualification which addresses key aspects of effective project management and is widely recognised throughout business and industry.
What will I gain from the APMP?
Achieving the qualification provides external credibility for organisations and project management staff. It also provides an entry route into APM membership (free registration if within six weeks of exam), and access to the latest project management best practices and new developments.

What qualifications and experience do I need before an APMP training course?
It is recommended that delegates should have two of the following:
At least two years experience working in project environments
Completed foundation training in the principles of project management
Achieved the APM Introductory Certificate in Project Management qualification
What is the exam format and pass mark?
The exam is based on short essay style answers. Candidates are required to answer ten from sixteen questions in three hours. The current pass mark is 55%.
When can I take the exam?
The exam is normally taken approximately one week after the face to face sessions to enable private study time for consolidation, revision and exam practice.
What is the format of the training course?
The course involves essential advanced self study preparation through well proven case study assignments (24 hours), face to face induction and coaching (4 days), and final exam preparation (self study 12 hours). Face to face sessions include interactive presentations, discussion, exercises and exam preparation activities. Some evening work is also required.
What materials are supplied during the course?
You will be provided with comprehensive course manuals, revision guides and the APM Body of Knowledge publication. Advance materials are provided on line through a dedicated web-site.
What do I need to do to prepare for the exam?
Obviously, the amount of preparation will depend on the experience and knowledge of each individual. For most people we recommend completing some advance work though not difficult, the course is relatively intense compared to typical training courses, and although some revision time is included, the exam is taken at the end of the course.
