APMP Open Revision Programme

Duration:

Candidates can start the programme any time.  Once the programme begins, they must be prepared to put in the necessary effort needed to complete the programme within three months.

Suitable for:

The programme is for anyone who has completed a study programme, has yet to take (or re-take) the APMP exam, and who would prefer a structured and guided approach to revision and exam preparation.

Objectives:

The overall aim of the programme is to prepare candidates appropriately for the APMP exam.  Through the programme the candidate will be able to:

·         establish gaps in current knowledge of APMP subjects and associated learning outcomes

·        complete a suitable programme of study to cover knowledge gaps, weaknesses in comprehension, composition and appropriate exam technique

·         comprehend, interpret and compose answers to APMP style questions in given time

·         decide readiness to take the exam

The APMP is widely recognised as a highly challenging exam even for experienced project managers!  On average one in three people may not pass the APMP exam at the first attempt.  If you are one of the unlucky ones, you may be wondering what to do next.  Perhaps you would like some guidance, help with some subjects, or maybe coaching in exam technique?  If you have not taken the exam yet, perhaps you would be more comfortable with a guided approach to revision and preparation for the exam.

Either way, our Open Revision programme may be just the solution for you.  Specially designed to help you revise and prepare fully, the programme provides guidance from an expert tutor right up to the exam.  It will pinpoint your weaker areas, assess your exam technique, and help you to prepare for the exam using a comprehensive range of learning resources.

The programme is flexible and delivered on a one to one basis by a personal tutor who will guide you through the whole process.  During the programme you will be supported by subject readers, revision exercises and exam style questions, all accessible anytime through our OpenPM website.

The programme is delivered in three sequential modules:

Module 1 Gap Analysis

The candidate completes evaluation exercises to identify gaps in knowledge of APMP subjects, and any shortcomings in ability to comprehend, interpret and compose answers to questions.  A tutorial enables the tutor and candidate to discuss the findings and agree a structured study programme.

Module 2 Study

The tutor provides guidance and a number of assignments as necessary to enable the candidate to cover weak areas in the APMP subjects.  The tutor assesses each assignment, provides feedback and discusses any follow up action needed with the candidate.

Module 3 Exam Preparation

After the candidate has demonstrated the required mastery of subjects, the tutor sets a series of exam style questions.  These questions support revision and provide practice in exam technique.  Finally, the candidate takes a mock examination which is marked by the tutor to assess exam readiness.  The outcome may result in further revision and preparation or confirmation that the candidate is ready for the exam.
